Predator SP2 Lime Green 1 Pool Cue

Predator SP2 Lime Green 1 Pool Cue Some pool cues whisper. The Predator SP2 Lime Green 1 is not one of them. This is a cue that walks into the room before you do. A matte black forearm — deep, light-absorbing, almost ink-like under the table lamps — runs into a single signature panel of metallic lime green that catches every photon in the building and throws it back. The Predator Cat sits matte-black across that bright panel like a logo on a race-day fairing. Athletic. Modern. Built for players who got tired of pretending their cue should look “tasteful.” But the Lime Green 1 isn’t a costume. The hot finish is wrapped around the same C4+ butt construction Predator puts into cues two and three times the price, paired with full REVO® carbon fiber shaft compatibility, and finished with the extended Uni-Loc® Leather Luxe wrap the SP2 line has become known for. The bold look gets people to pick it up. The way it plays is what makes them stop talking. If you’ve been waiting for a Predator cue that doesn’t apologize for having a personality, the SP2 Lime Green 1 is the one. A Note on “1” vs. “2” — Get This Right Before You Add to Cart Predator released the SP2 Lime Green in two design variants. They share construction, materials, and performance — but the cosmetics are inverted, and the difference is more dramatic in person than on a thumbnail. SP2 Lime Green 1 (this cue): Matte black forearm. Metallic lime green accent points with a matte black Predator Cat on the green. Reads as black-dominant with green as the accent — a stealthier, more athletic look. SP2 Lime Green 2: Metallic lime green forearm. Matte black accent points. Reads as green-dominant with black as the accent — louder, more visually saturated. Both cues use a metallic lime green collar and butt cap, so even on the “1,” the green carries through the cue. Choose the 1 if you want bold contrast with restraint. Choose the 2 if you want full visual commitment. Inside the Butt: What C4+ Construction Actually Means A cue’s looks bring you in. Its construction is what makes you keep playing it five years later. The SP2 Lime Green 1 is built around Predator’s C4+ butt construction — the same platform under flagship cues like the 10K and the most current P3 builds. Here’s what’s going on inside that matte black sleeve: Four-piece spliced butt core. Instead of a single maple dowel, C4+ uses four pieces of maple spliced together. The result is a straighter, more dimensionally stable cue that resists warping as humidity and temperature change. Cues built this way stay true years after most production cues have started to drift. Sleeve technology — a thin shell of finish material wraps the engineered core. The structural integrity comes from the four-piece maple underneath, which means Predator can finish the cue in metallic paint, exotic wood, or any other surface treatment without compromising what’s holding the cue together. Translation: the matte black and metallic green you see on the SP2 are decorative; the bones under them are solid. Phenolic internal components. Phenolic is one of the most stable materials in cuemaking — it doesn’t move with the seasons, doesn’t compress under repeated hard hits, and transmits clean feedback into your bridge hand. C4+ uses phenolic at the joint and at internal junctions where production cues typically use wood. No threaded weight bolt at the forearm-to-handle interface. Conventional cues bolt the forearm and handle together with a threaded steel rod, which creates a subtle joint that can shift over time. C4+ eliminates that interface entirely — fewer moving parts, one continuous hit feel from tip to bumper. The on-table result is what Predator calls maximized stiffness with positive feedback. In plain English: when you strike the cue ball, you feel exactly what happened. Solid hits feel solid. Off-center hits give you honest feedback you can correct from. The cue isn’t filtering information out — it’s reporting it. Extended Uni-Loc® Leather Luxe Wrap The SP2 carries the extended Uni-Loc® Leather Luxe wrap — Predator’s longer-than-standard leather grip that runs further up the cue than typical wraps. For players who choke up on the cue, or who have larger hands, the extra wrap length means usable grip surface where most cues leave you on bare finish. The Leather Luxe material itself is a fine-grain leather chosen for real-world playing conditions. It’s tacky enough that a sweaty hand doesn’t slip during a long session, and smooth enough that a stroke doesn’t catch on the wrap. Over months of play, the leather develops a personal patina — it ages the way a quality leather wallet ages, gradually conforming to how you actually hold the cue. On a cue this visually loud, the dark leather wrap is also a tonal anchor. It pulls the eye away from the bright green panel just long enough to remind everyone that this is a player’s cue first. Uni-Loc® Quick-Release Joint The Uni-Loc® Quick-Release joint is the Predator-group standard, and it remains one of the best joint systems in production cuemaking. It assembles in roughly one-third of a turn, locks together with zero play or wobble, and delivers identical joint tension every single time you put the cue together. Tournament players who break the cue down between matches will recognize the value immediately — your cue feels exactly the same in hour one and hour eight. The Quick-Release pin is also fully compatible with Predator’s entire REVO® and shaft ecosystem, which is what makes the SP2 platform so flexible. The cue is sold as a butt; the shaft is your choice. Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System — Fine-Tune to Your Stroke One of the underrated advantages of the SP2 Lime Green 1 is its Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System. The cue ships at a standard 19 oz, but the cartridge — housed at the bumper end of the butt — lets you adjust weight from roughly 18.5 to 20.5 ounces in 0.10-ounce increments. That level of resolution used to require a trip to a cuesmith. With the SP2, it’s a swap you can do at home. Players who tune cue weight based on table conditions, who switch between break and playing cues, or who simply want to dial in a specific feel get adjustment range that custom cuemakers traditionally charged a premium for. What’s Included in the Predator Box The Predator SP2 Lime Green 1 ships with a small set of practical extras most resellers don’t bother to mention: 5 × REVO Cleaning Towelettes 1 × Predator Microfiber Cleaning Cloth Predator & REVO patches If you’re pairing the cue with a REVO carbon fiber shaft (sold separately on most configurations), the cleaning towelettes are specifically formulated for carbon fiber and worth holding onto. But the Uni-Loc joint means you can pair the butt with any current Predator shaft. Here’s how the options actually play: REVO® Carbon Fiber Shaft (11.8 mm, 12.4 mm, or 12.9 mm) — Predator’s flagship. Ultra-low deflection, no warping, minimal maintenance, crisp consistent hit. The natural fit for the SP2’s modern aesthetic. White Vault Plate matches the cue’s metallic accent and is the most-chosen configuration; black is also available for a stealthier look. Centro Hybrid Shaft (12.4 mm) — Maple shaft with a carbon fiber core. Wood feel with carbon stability. A solid pick if you want the SP2’s athletic look but prefer the warmth of a wood shaft. 314-3 Spliced Maple Shaft (12.4 mm) — Predator’s classic low-deflection maple shaft. Balanced and forgiving. Best for beginner-to-intermediate players. Z-3 Spliced Maple Shaft (11.85 mm) — Slimmer tip, reduced front-end mass, aggressive cue ball control. For advanced players who want precision on spin and cut shots. Vantage Spliced Maple Shaft (12.9 mm) — Firmest hit in the maple lineup. Power-leaning playing style. Quick rule of thumb: REVO 12.4 mm with the White Vault Plate is the “house” recommendation for the SP2 Lime Green 1 — it matches the cue’s design language and gives you the modern-performance feel the SP2 platform was built to showcase. Who the SP2 Lime Green 1 Is For The SP2 Lime Green 1 isn’t a beginner cue, and Predator doesn’t position it as one. It’s built for a specific kind of player: You’ll feel at home with the SP2 Lime Green 1 if you are: An intermediate or advanced player who wants modern Predator performance without paying flagship 10K or P3 pricing. A league or APA-circuit competitor who wants their cue to be part of how they show up. A player who has outgrown an entry-level cue and is ready to invest in something they’ll keep for years. Someone whose style runs athletic, modern, or motorsport-inspired — the SP2 looks the part on a Saturday night league bench. A collector of limited-production Predator releases. The SP2 line is limited production, which means once a colorway sells out, it’s typically gone. Why the SP2 Line Matters The SP2 platform is Predator’s answer to a real player request: modern construction and modern looks at a price that doesn’t require flagship-cue commitment. SP2 cues run a step below the P3 and 10K series in price, but share the same core C4+ construction, the same Uni-Loc® hardware, and the same shaft compatibility. The visible difference is in the design language — SP2 leans sport-inspired and color-forward, where the 10K leans heritage and the P3 leans futuristic. For a lot of players, that makes the SP2 the smartest cue in the Predator catalog: you get the technology that matters without paying for inlay work you weren’t sure you wanted in the first place. Care & Long-Term Ownership The SP2’s matte finish is durable but benefits from a soft microfiber wipe-down after sessions to lift hand oils. The metallic lime green accents and collar are sealed under finish and won’t fade with normal play — avoid harsh solvents and you’ll have years before the cue shows its age. Condition the Leather Luxe wrap occasionally with a quality leather conditioner to preserve the grip texture. Store the cue in a hard case (Predator’s own Roadline and Urbain cases pair well visually) and keep it out of car trunks in summer and freezing garages in winter. The C4+ core resists movement better than traditional cues, but no finished cue is fully immune to abuse.
