Evensong - A Suite of Nocturnes

Composer(s): Adolphus Hailstork EVENSONG is a tender 20-minute suite of seven connected scenes for violin and cello depicting a family evening at home. Hailstork provides this description: “In a rural setting, twilight approaches, and a family gathers together. While a gentle breeze wafts through an open window, all join voices in a hymn of thanksgiving and settle down to dinner. After the meal, the children go to bed, supported by a family lullaby. After gently wishing everyone a good night, the parents spend a little time viewing the tapestry of stars before retiring for the night themselves.”   Publisher: Theodore Presser Company Tempo: Very Sustained (q=60) Duration: 0:20:00 Instrumentation: Violin, Violoncello Pages: 16 Binding: 9x12 Format: Performance Scores UPC: 680160615223 ISBN: 9781491101124 Item No: 114-41596 Publication Date: 2/1/2025 Table of Contents: 1.
