PPG Smoke Headset V5

That Good Song Will Finally Sound Good. The days of janky Headsets that take drilling, riveting, soldering, and good old fashioned super glue are over. The new PPG Smoke V5 Headset are ready to rock and roll headset straight out of the box. Connect to your music, communicate via radio, and chat with your GoPro, all while the sound drowns out the screaming engine and music fills your ears with glorious music. The new V5 Headsets are not just a step forward, but a massive leap in technology. No More Science Projects Historically paramotor pilots had limited choices on headsets. Either we got headsets for radio communications, which often sucked with noise cancellation or we had to drill, dremel, and mess with ear cups to install bluetooth systems. These previous problems were headaches, and there was never really a great solution. Those headaches are gone, and the solution is here. The 6 Main Goals Of A Headset: Headsets need to achieve these 6 things: Air tight noise cancellation Phenomenal audio quality Bluetooth connection to a cell phone Ham radio or aviation radio cable port GoPro/action camera connection Stellar battery life  The new V5 Headset by PPG Smoke confidently checks all the boxes, in one.  Core Specifications 16dB active noise protection (50 to 300 Hz) 24dB passive noise protection 40dB total noise protection Active noise protection Voice activity detection (VAD) Environmental noise cancellation Noise dependent volume control 1x hirose radio port 2200mAh battery 18 Hour playback battery life Bluetooth connectivity Aviation and ham radio compatible Side tone Key Features Hybrid Noise Cancellation The new V5 Headset by PPG Smoke features a unique and industry leading hybrid noise cancellation. Firstly is the standard protection from the earmuff itself, which offers 24dB of protection. The earmuff features a gel ear cup standard are is slightly larger in size to get a better seal around the ear. The better the seal, the better the noise protection. The second form of noise cancellation is from the active noise cancellation (ANC) that can be toggled on and off. The ANC is tuned to cut out the noises paramotor pilots face most: wind, prop, engine, etc and is tuned for 50-300hz. The ANC offers and additional 16dB in noise cancellation bringing your total protection to 41db. The V5 headset can also come with a MMCX earbud and those can add an additional 35-40dB in protection depending on your choice of earbud. 16dB of active noise cancellation 24dB passive noise cancellation 40dB total protection Speaker Sound Quality Prepare to enjoy the best sound quality you'll ever get from paramotor headsets- guaranteed. Whether you're listing to important radio calls or glorious rock and roll, you need audio quality that is loud and clear. The new V5 Headset speakers are built with the highest quality speakers money can buy. The volume can be adjusted far beyond what's typically comfortable, the sound quality fantastic, and the bass is actually noticeable. These headsets were built for pilot who want to truly hear what they're listening to. Jam with joy, communicate with confidence, and enjoy what music should sound like from the sky. Voice Activity Detection (VAD) The new V5 Headset is also built with a voice activity detection (VAD) system, which is designed to cut out background noise when speaking into the microphone. Let's face it, flying can be loud and when you're talking to someone via the microphone it can be a challenge to hear them in the air. The VAD system does a fantastic job at cutting out the background noise of the wind, motor, propeller, etc and hyper focusing on just the pilots voice. Even at full throttle the VAD system does a fantastic job at making the pilot easy to understand, loud and clear. Noise Dependent Volume Control NDVC dynamically adjusts your volume levels based on the situation at hand. Incoming radio traffic automatically takes priority, lowering music or call audio when needed. Meaning, you won't miss the important radio call from nearby traffic or your instructor on the ground because your music was too loud. They blend together nicely, and are built to work side by side, not against each other. Radio and Bluetooth Connectivity The PPG Smoke Headset is one of the few headsets that can have both bluetooth for phone calls, music, etc, and a radio cables for ham radios or aviation radios all at the same time. Now you can listen to your music while also having a radio connected for communication with other pilots. Designed to work with 490+ aviation radios & ham radios.  Battery Life The PPG Smoke V5 Headset is built with a 2200mAh internal battery that's optimized for full day use without needing to charge. Estimated life span while listening to music or using the radio is around 18 hours.  18 hour battery life while listening to music 2200mAh internal battery 2-4 hour charge time (depends on cord) Compatibility One thing that has really set the V5 Headsets apart is the wide range of compatibility it has out of the box. You're able to click a button and bluetooth connect to your phone, plug a radio cable in to communicate via ham radio or av band, all while you have noise cancellation that actually works and phenomenal sound quality. The wide range of compatibility gives you options, without having to pick and choose which one thing you'd like to achieve. Aviation radio compatible Ham radio compatible Cell phone bluetooth compatible GoPro audio cable compatible  MMCX / Earbud's The PPG Smoke V5 Headsets are now available with a built in MMCX (earbud) cord for simple plug and play installation. For those of you who don't know what this is, it is a cord that gives you the ability to plug an earbud into it so your music comes through the earbud instead of the speaker. Some people prefer this over the speaker as it does give additional noise protection. Not everyone prefers earbuds, as some people's ears do not prefer having anything in them, which we understand. Those of you who are not sure which to choose, ask yourself if you'd prefer to have the music come through the speakers or through an "airpod" like earbud that you place in your ear. The earbud is not included in the headset purchase, and you can find a slew of options on amazon. BASN earbuds are our top recommendation with foam eartips for max noise protection. The MMCX version has the ability to swap between speakers and earbuds as you'd please. You do have to remove the earcup to access the switch.
