Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)

The Unbreakable Beginner Plant That Grows Anywhere If there’s one plant that’s earned the title “nearly impossible to kill,” it’s Pothos. With their cascading vines and heart-shaped leaves splashed with cream, gold, or white variegation, these hardy trailing beauties are the gateway plant for new plant parents and the reliable workhorses for experienced collectors. Whether draped from a shelf, climbing a moss pole, or sprawling across a bookcase, Pothos bring lush, jungle vibes to any space with minimal effort. Why You’ll Love It Bulletproof & Forgiving – Forgot to water? Low light? No problem. Pothos tolerate neglect better than almost any houseplant, bouncing back from dry spells and adapting to a wide range of conditions. Fast-Growing & Rewarding – Watch your Pothos put out new leaves regularly, creating satisfying, visible growth. Vines can grow several feet in a single growing season, giving you instant gratification. Versatile Display Options – Train them to climb, let them trail from hanging baskets, or drape them across shelves and mantels. Pothos adapt to however you want to style them. Propagates Easily – Want more plants? Simply snip a stem and pop it in water. You’ll have roots in weeks and can share the plant love with friends or fill your own space with more green. Available Cultivars Golden Pothos – Classic chartreuse and green variegation with bright, golden-yellow splashes. The most vigorous grower and the most forgiving of lower light. Marble Queen Pothos – Stunning white and green variegation that resembles marble. More dramatic coloring that intensifies in brighter light, creating an elegant, sophisticated look. Care Tips Light: Adapts to low, medium, or bright indirect light. Variegation is more pronounced in brighter conditions, but they’ll survive almost anywhere. Water: When top 1-2 inches of soil are dry (every 1-2 weeks). They’ll actually droop to tell you when they’re thirsty, then perk right back up after watering. Humidity: Tolerates average home humidity but appreciates occasional misting. Temperature: Comfortable in typical home temps (60-85°F). Pruning: Trim back leggy vines to encourage bushier growth. Use cuttings to propagate new plants. ⚠️ Pet Safety: Pothos are toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Display out of reach of curious pets.
