PREORDER Possibility: Our Advent Journey with the Prophet, Priest, Pastor, & Poet

by Bruce Reyes-Chow Read a sample A daily Advent devotional that invites you to meet Jesus in full—Prophet, Priest, Pastor, and Poet—and discover the disruptive, grounding possibility he offers a weary world. Possibility draws its heart from Bruce Reyes-Chow's book Prophets, Priests, Pastors, & Poets: Being and Becoming the Resurrected Christ—though no prior reading is needed; this Advent devotional stands complete on its own. The weeks before Christmas can feel more hurried than holy. Between the shopping, the gatherings, and the to-do lists, it's easy to reach December 25th without ever truly slowing down to prepare your heart. You want this Advent to feel different: less rushed, more rooted. You want to actually feel the hope, peace, joy, and love the season promises. That's what Bruce Reyes-Chow offers in Possibility. A warm and trusted pastoral voice, Bruce walks with you through all four weeks of Advent with honest reflections, scripture, and prayer that help you meet Jesus more fully as the source of hope, peace, joy, and love. Each week builds gently on the last, so that by Christmas morning, you haven't just counted down the days—you've been renewed by them. Every day includes a scripture reading from the Common English Bible (with non-gendered language for God), a short, honest reflection from Reyes-Chow's own life as a Gen X pastor, parent, and person of color, a question for personal or group reflection, and a brief prayer to ground your day. Sundays add a candle-lighting litany and a preaching prompt, making Possibility just as at home in personal devotion as it is around the family table or in the pulpit. Start your Advent journey today, and make room for the hope, peace, joy, and love Christ still has for the world.
