Pony Express Cotton Throw

Where the Rocky Mountains meet the plains, wild horses graze Native grass on the prairies. From hunting and traveling, to fighting in war, horses were and still are a vital part of Blackfeet life. In beautiful shades of sky blue, Piikani/Blackfeet artist John Isaiah Pepion has painted a family of horses to gallop across a vibrant sunset. At the heart of his design, he pays tribute to the horse culture of his people, while the Morning Star bands the top and bottom of the blanket, bringing you good luck, positive dreams, and blessings. “Hunting, war, traveling—we used horses for all of it. Horses often appeared on traditional ledger art as part of the battle and hunting stories Blackfeet artists told, they were that important to our lifestyle,” shares John Product Details: Designed by John Isaiah Pepion (Piikani/Blackfeet) 100% cotton; yellow, red, orange, and blue Blanket size: 60 in x 50 in / 152.4 cm x 127 cm Fringed on two sides Machine washable; manufacturer recommends washing on the delicate/gentle cycle and tumble-drying on low.
