Pompano rigs (aka set rigs) are most often used near beaches and channels. The rigs have a bright bead and a vibrant yellow float. This helps draw the Pompano to your bait and float your bait off the bottom. The colored beads are said to attract Pompano as they imitate sand flea eggs. The key to Pompano fishing is to keep your bait/lure at or near the bottom. Attach to your main line and add a sinker, the most popular weight is a 2 - 4 oz. pyramid weight. Bait up, and start catching! This top-quality Pompano Rig (set rig) makes targeting these tasty fish more productive than ever. Tied on premium 40-lb.-test monofilament #5 barrel swivel on top and a snap on the bottom for easy sinker attachment. You can find Florida Pompano in schools inhabiting the coastal waters of the Atlantic Ocean from Massachusetts to Brazil and throughout the Gulf of Mexico. You'll catch most Pompano surf fishing off of the beaches and in the inshore bays. Other prime spots to find pompanos are passes and inlets at any time of year.
