Polished Carnelian Freeform

Approximately 2" There is just something intoxicating about Carnelian. It doesn’t matter how many times we have it in stock, we’re always drawn to it and inspecting each stone. Every single one of these palmstones is unique, and we could spend all day looking at the bands of crystals and colors playing off each other. We’re pretty sure you’ll fall in love with it too once you grab one for your own collection. It’s a stone that is truly unlike anything else. Now that we have fawned over it for a while, let’s talk about what it actually is. Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony, which is a form of silica. Its warm reddish orange color comes from iron oxide within the stone. That iron is what gives Carnelian its distinctive glow. The stone usually forms in volcanic rock, especially in places where iron is abundant. Over time, the silica slowly crystallizes, creating the smooth, glossy finish that makes Carnelian so eye catching. According to metaphysics, Carnelian has a trigonal crystal system, a characteristic it shares with other forms of quartz. This structure is believed to be responsible for its ability to amplify and channel energy, making it a popular choice for those seeking to enhance their vitality and drive. The microcrystalline nature of Carnelian means it consists of tiny crystals too small to be seen with the naked eye, creating a dense, durable stone. All crystals and minerals vary slightly in size and shape. You will receive a high quality specimen of the selected item but not the exact one pictured.
