Polished Brass Camel Saddle Hook (Trade)

A robust utilitarian antiquity featuring a detailed geometric stem and a stylized architectural bud finial, carrying a rich, aged olive-brass patina. Hand-cast via traditional regional sand-mold methods, this heavy-duty hardware piece beautifully showcases the artistic care given to historic pastoral equipment in northwestern India. Designed specifically to slide over and clamp onto thick leather strapping or the wooden frame of a camel saddle, the hook features a deep, hollow interior channel that allowed ropes or harness elements to pass securely through its open body.  The front-facing stem displays remarkable geometric complexity, built up with thick stacked rings, tight cross-hatched bands, and a prominent central block medallion. The heavy-gauge loop curves sharply at the base, tapering upward into a beautifully defined finial that mimics a stylized lotus bud or architectural crown peak. Over decades of trade-route use, This antique artifact serves as a striking conversational artifact, bringing an intense layer of authentic history, rich metal color, and distinct sculptural form to a desktop vignette, an entry tray, or a modern modular shelf niche. *Era: Antique *Dimensions: 1.5" W x 1.5" D x 3" H *Material: Authentic Hand-Cast Solid Brass / Heavy Copper Alloy *Finish: Aged Olive-Gold, Burnished Brass Highlights, and Dark Charcoal Recesses *Utility: Elite small-scale decorative object, uniquely proportioned to introduce rich old-world texture to upscale desk vignettes, console trays, or custom display stands. *Origin: India *Condition: Stable, un-restored condition.
