When used with a POE injector, switch, or router, it provides a clean power source without requiring a local AC outlet. It can be used in two ways: Power-only mode – When using a dedicated Ethernet cable for power delivery from POE power injector, or Data & power split mode – when extracting power from an active Ethernet line delivery from a network router or switch.
