PN8003 = Fretz Planishing Repousse Set (9pcs)

Chasing and Repousse is the art of shaping metal into dimensional shapes with small chisels with a wide range of working end designs. The twisted ends of the tools are hit with a chasing hammer, while the working ends are held in position with the holding hand. The sheet metal is usually held in pitch as chasing tools strike the metal. The metal is pushed down and forms or designs will emerge as the process continues. Chasing usually refers to the metal being worked from the top side while the term repousse indicated the metal is worked from both sides. Planishers are used to smooth the metal by overlapping the marks. The ends of the tools vary greatly in shape and size depending on the desired finishes. The flat ends will make for a smoother domed finish while the domed ends will leave a pebble finish. The domed planishers are used to finished concave shapes. Set includes: * PL-1 = 6mm square, flat * PL-2 = 4mm square, flat * PL-3 = 2mm square, flat * PL-4 = 6mm square w/ semi-circle, domed * PL-5 = 4mm square w/ semi-circle, flat * PL-6 = 2mm square w/ semi-circle, domed * PL-7 = 5mm triangle, flat * PL-8 = 5 x 3.5mm rounded triangle, flat * PL-9 = 5 x 2mm rectangle, flat
