PN8002 = Fretz Large Repousse Fluting Set (6pcs)

Chasing and Repousse is the art of shaping metal into dimensional shapes with small chisels with a wide range of working end designs. The twisted ends of the tools are hit with a chasing hammer, while the working ends are held in position with the holding hand. The sheet metal is usually held in pitch as chasing tools strike the metal. The metal is pushed down and forms or designs will emerge as the process continues. Chasing usually refers to the metal being worked from the top side while the term repousse indicated the metal is worked from both sides. The large fluting stakes are for bolder or wider flutes when subtle control is desired. The rounded profile tools are good at curved flutes while the straight ones are more suited to straight flutes. The different radii of the tools are meant for different width flutes and determine the texture within each flute. The wider the tool within a given width, the less texture will be generated. Set includes: * RF-1 = 12.2 x 1.2mm, curved * RF-2 = 12.0 x 2.8mm, curved * RF-3 = 12.2 x 1.5mm, straight * RF-4 = 12.3 x 2.6mm, straight * RF-105 = 17 x 4.5mm, straight & rounded * RF-106 = 17 x 6mm, straight & rounded
