PLURBLE

Kenny Scharf - PLURBLE  “PLURBLE” (2023) by Kenny Scharf is a silkscreen print on paper, circular in shape with a diameter of 24 cm, produced in a limited edition of 99. The work is a perfect example of the artist's distinctive style, characterised by vibrant colours, expressive faces and an aesthetic that fuses pop culture, surrealism and a psychedelic touch. The image depicts a caricatured and playful face with an exaggerated and dynamic expression. The sparkling blue eyes are large and full of energy, while the gaping mouth reveals a row of white teeth and a small face in the middle of the tongue, a surreal detail that adds an extra layer of strangeness and irony. The colour palette is dominated by intense tones of red, purple and blue, which blend to create a psychedelic and hypnotic effect. Sinuous lines and ornamental spiral patterns decorate the surface, accentuating the sense of movement and vitality. The circular shape of the work amplifies this perception, making the face appear to be constantly expanding or rotating. “PLURBLE” perfectly embodies Scharf's visual language, which transforms smiling, playful faces into almost psychedelic figures, rich in detail and dreamlike nuances. The work conveys a feeling of energy, euphoria and irony, inviting the viewer to plunge into its colourful and surreal universe.
