A generous platter, perfect for a Sunday roast or any gathering where more is merrier. Well-suited to centerpiece dishes like roast meats, whole fish, or a Christmas turkey, it also makes an elegant base for charcuterie, cheese, or fresh fruit on a grazing table — or for serving bite-sized appetizers. Equally at home presenting panettone, pavlova, or other celebratory desserts or other celebratory desserts, it can also double as a coffee or tea service tray, or a buffet-style plate that rests comfortably on the lap for more casual, sofa-side dining. DETAILS: 14.6 x .8 in | Handcrafted from fine Amakusa porcelain | Made in Hasami, Japan MORE: Born in a small studio in Bundjalung country, Australia, Softedge is one of Laya Creurs' explorations of 'softness', the guiding principle behind all her work, which spans architecture, curation, and design. In early 2023, facing ongoing material shortages and manufacturing bottlenecks, the studio paused its in-house production in search of a more sustainable model that would improve the craftsmanship of the products. The journey eventually landed in Kyushu, the heartland of Japanese porcelain. The end result is a smooth, lustrous, and thoughtfully designed dish, with functionality in mind, as these pieces easily stack and are microwave- and dishwasher-safe.
