Black Plastic 1 Gallon Feeder Jar

1 Gallon Sugar Syrup Jar This plastic one-gallon black jar is four times the size of the typical feeder jar used by most beekeepers, allowing fewer visits to refill syrup jars while still fitting an entrance feeder. Designed specifically for backyard and commercial beekeepers, it features the same exterior dimensions as a milk jug—making it easy to store and transport using stackable milk crates. Its black color and built-in UV inhibitor enhance durability, resisting brittleness and sun damage for long-lasting use. The compact design fits under a telescoping cover on a single deep box, or can be used as a top feeder above a circle top inner cover or as a boardman-style entrance feeder. Key features and benefits UV-resistant plastic; molded with UV inhibitors and black coloring to slow breakdown and prevent brittleness in sunlight. Versatile feeding options; compatible with boardman entrance feeders, telescoping or migratory covers, and deep hive boxes. Compact height; fits on a single deep box for space-efficient feeding. Wide-mouth design; fits 70g lids (standard mason jar), allowing easy filling and sealing (lids not included). We recommend the 70 mm Mason canning jar lid for the best fit. Milk jug dimensions; designed for secure stacking and easy transport in standard milk crates. Durable material; thick-walled, recyclable number 5 plastic with a textured grip to prevent slipping. Higher capacity; holds 1.05 gallons (128+ fluid ounces), reducing refill frequency. Enhanced seal; wide rim provides a better fit for plastic or metal lids. Usage instructions Fill the jar with your desired sugar syrup mix and securely attach a 70mm mason jar lid (not included). Invert it for use with a boardman feeder or place it upright inside a deep box above your inner cover. Its short profile allows it to be used even on single-box hives under a telescoping cover. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed to prevent leaks. Detailed description Crafted from thick, textured number 5 recyclable plastic, this jar is built for season-after-season use. Its solid black construction reduces mold growth and blocks light, helping to keep syrup fresh and stable. The wide rim and textured hex grip improve handling and ensure a secure seal, even with sticky hands. Though it holds over a gallon, it retains the standard milk jug size, making it stackable and easy to store. Its low profile is ideal for both internal and external feeding setups. Reinforced walls resist warping from sun exposure, maintaining durability and performance.
