PL1789 = Pro Razor Flush Oval Cutter

Durston Professional Pliers Built like precision instruments. Used like an extra pair of hands. Durston's Professional line of pliers isn't your average bench tool. They're engineered for jewelers who demand accuracy, comfort, and durability in every squeeze. Made from hardened, high-carbon steel, each pair is precision ground and polished to ensure clean contact surfaces and smooth action. The lap-joint construction keeps jaws perfectly aligned, while double-leaf springs provide just the right amount of rebound so your hands don't wear out before your ideas do. Each handle is fitted with ergonomic, non-slip grips designed for long studio sessions, and the jaws are smooth and non-serrated, giving you full control without leaving unwanted marks on precious metal. From delicate wirework to small-scale fabrication, these pliers handle the fine details like they were designed by someone who actually works at a bench, because they were. Why jewelers love them: * Crafted from high-carbon steel for strength, durability, and long edge life. * Precision-ground, mirror-polished jaws for smooth, mar-free performance. * Lap-joint pivot ensures perfect jaw alignment and consistent pressure. * Double-leaf springs reduce hand fatigue during repetitive work. * Ergonomic handles for secure, comfortable grip. * Designed in the U.K. by Durston a trusted name in jewelry tools for over 50 years. Whether you're looping, bending, forming, or flattening, Durston Professional Pliers give you control that feels more like craftsmanship than work. This oval flush cutter has a design that gives extra strength to the jaws (they're bulkier than a sharply tapered cutter), which helps extend blade life and resist deformation. The flush (€œrazor flush€) style means you can cut wire ends nearly flush to surfaces€”ideal when you don't want a little stub poking out. Jaw length = 12mm Handle length = 89mm Overall length = 115 mm Its cutting capacity reaches about 0.8mm (20ga) in non-ferrous wire (soft metals like copper, silver, gold) at the tip before you start risking blade damage. This plier offers a comfortable size for detailed work without feeling bulky in your hand. Working in jewelry or wire crafts, this cutter is excellent when: * trimming jump rings or wire ends cleanly so they sit flush against your work, * snipping wires in tight areas without marring surrounding metal, * do precision cuts in finer-gauge non-ferrous metals where a clean finish matters, * performing repairs or final touches where even a tiny bit of extra wire would get in the way or look unprofessional. Used with care (especially avoiding using the tip region too often), it's a valuable tool for detailed, fine cutting tasks that demand clean, low-profile results.
