Pittsburg Tulip

Pittsburgh Tulip adds a rich, unexpected twist to spring garden color. Its silvery-purple blooms gradually deepen to a darker violet, creating a layered, moody look that stands out in beds and borders. While other tulips fade fast or droop in spring storms, this one stays upright and keeps its shape, even when the weather doesn’t cooperate. Color That Changes with the Season: This isn’t your typical tulip. Pittsburgh opens with soft, smoky lavender tones and matures into a deeper, velvety purple. That natural shift gives your garden extra depth—like you planted multiple varieties, when it’s really just one. It pairs beautifully with creamy whites, soft yellows, or even bright reds if you like bold contrast. Built to Handle Real Spring Weather: One of the best things about Pittsburgh Tulip is how well it holds up. Spring rain and wind are part of the deal, but thanks to its thick, sturdy stems, this tulip stays tall. No flopping, no fuss—just strong, upright blooms that keep your garden looking clean and fresh even after a storm. Perfect for Bouquets, Too:These tulips aren’t just pretty in the garden—they’re made for cutting. The classic egg-shaped blooms and 16–18-inch height make them perfect for arranging. Add a few stems to a vase, and you’ve got instant style on the table without needing to dress them up. An Easy Win for Mid-Spring Color: Pittsburgh blooms right after the early tulips and before the late-season varieties, so it’s a great bridge in your spring display. Plant the bulbs about six inches deep in sunny, well-drained soil. They’re easygoing and look best when planted in clusters, where that shifting color really shines. If you're after a tulip with more depth and durability than the usual pastels, Pittsburgh is the one to plant. It’s bold without being flashy, tough without losing elegance—a reliable pick for gardeners who want something a little different.
