A good pitcher is one of those objects that always finds purpose. Whether it holds water by the bedside, flowers from the garden, or simply stands on a shelf as form and memory. This one was found at the Paris Flea. Created in the 1960s by Jean-Claude Malarmey in Vallauris, France. Hand-thrown, signed, and softly aged, it carries the warmth of touch and the timelessness of true craft. Signed “Malarmey Vallauris.” Mid-century French ceramic. One-of-a-kind. Jean-Claude Malarmey (1932-1992) was a French studio potter who was part of a community of artists (Capron, Picasso, and others) in Vallauris, France. He opened his own workshop in the late 1950s. His work is wheel thrown and hand painted. Mid-century modern with organic restraint.
