Pisces in Pieces, by Lian Villanueva Lansang

Poetry, chapbook, 24 pages, from Bottlecap Features. He fell for an organized Virgo, and now, he’s just a Pisces in Pieces. Pisces in Pieces is a collection of poems all written to "The Girl" that navigate the complexity of human emotion in a new relationship. The works, in no certain order, try to make sense of catching feelings/falling in love in the months leading up to when Lian left for Air Force Basic Military Training, the silence experienced in the months during BMT, and the heartbreak in the months following BMT. In his debut chapbook, Lian does his best to capture everything he’s ever felt/still feels for The Girl from the closeness to the d i s t a n c e, to the joy and now empty silence that he finds himself sitting in. Lian is a writer based in Los Angeles. He received his MFA in Creative Writing from CalArts. His short story "Sundowning" was published in The Bangalore Review. Currently, he works as a florist at a cemetery flower shop (yes, it's haunted), and he is in the Air Force Reserve.
