"Pink" Timing, Original Monotype Clock

This pink wall clock features an original monotype art design with vibrant hot pink, magenta, coral, and orange hues on cream—a handmade statement piece. There's a moment in printmaking when the plate lifts and you see what you actually made—when the color lands in ways you planned and ways you didn't. That's the magic captured in this unique wall clock. Hot pink, magenta, coral, and warm orange forms pull from the plate and settle across a soft cream field, threaded with thin vertical lines that feel like light falling through leaves. The whole thing vibrates with energy, then the clock hands land in the center of it, transforming original monotype art into a functional timepiece. Frequently Asked Questions Is this a print or an original piece? This is an original, one-of-a-kind monotype print — meaning only one exists. You're purchasing the actual hand-pulled piece, not a reproduction. What's a monotype print? Is it an original or a print? Not to be confused with a fine-art reproduction or giclée print. A monotype is a printmaking process — but not one that produces editions. I apply acrylic paint directly to a gel plate, then pull a single impression. Once that layer lifts, the plate is bare. One pull, done. My pieces build up 2–10 of those unique layers, each one unrepeatable. So yes, it's made through printmaking — but it functions as original art. There is no edition. This is the piece. How does the clock mechanism work? The clock features a working mechanism with hands that are integrated into the artistic design. Runs on 1 AA battery. Can I hang this on my wall? Yes, the cradled wood panel construction makes it suitable for wall display. It also stands on a shelf or desktop without any additional hardware. Do you teach workshops or classes? Yes, in the South Florida area — in gel plate printmaking, cut-paper painting, and abstracted figures and portraits. See our workshop section for details. Do you take commissions? Yes — if you see something you love, we are often able to produce something similar in a different size or color palette. Just message me to start the conversation.
