Pineapple Guava Bush

Feijoa sellowiana is a drought tolerant, subtropical evergreen shrub that can tolerate regular pruning and can easily be shaped as a hedge, screen, small tree or espaliered. The recognizable leaves are oval with grey-green leaves and white woolly undersides. Attractive white petals with purple-red interiors surround central tufts of showy, long red stamens. The flowers bloom in late spring-early summer followed by greyish-green pineapple guava fruit. Use in the garden as a specimen or background shrub, or as a privacy screen or informal hedge. Attracts birds and butterflies and other pollinators.
