Pine, Eastern White Blue Shag

Graceful & soft blue-green needles on a dense, dwarf form. Best on fertile, moist, well-drained soils, but adaptable. Can develop chlorosis in highly alkaline soils.Pines are versatile evergreens more tolerant of harsh sites than spruces or firs. They have few serious pest problems and can handle a wide range of soil and temperature conditions. Eastern white pines are soft and graceful with open, irregular form. They need some protection from wind and prefer fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Blue Shag is a dwarf shrub with soft, blue-green needles. Moderate growth rate.Photo courtesy of Iseli Nursery
