Pimoko Dwarf Serbian Spruce

Pimoko Dwarf Serbian Spruce (Picea omorika 'Pimoko') is a dwarf globe spruce whose short needles are dark green above and banded silver-white beneath, so the plant flickers between the two colors as branches move. It reaches 2 to 3 feet tall and wide in zones 4 through 7 and takes many years to get there. Serbian Spruce is a narrow 50 foot tree. Pimoko keeps the species trademark two-toned needle and its tolerance for city air and difficult soil, then packs it into a slightly irregular bun you can plant next to a sidewalk. Among dwarf spruces it is one of the few that offers silver without the gray-blue cast of a Colorado type. Plant it at the front of a foundation bed, in a rock garden, or in a container, and view it where low light will catch the silver needle backs. Serbian Spruce handles urban conditions and alkaline ground better than most spruces, which widens where this one can go. Light: full sun to partial sun Water: even moisture, it is not deeply drought tolerant Soil: well drained, tolerates a wide pH range including alkaline soil Care: no pruning needed, remove any strongly upright shoot to keep the globe Add Pimoko Dwarf Serbian Spruce to your cart.
