Brass is a hard metal that holds up well in all environments and is made from a combination of copper and zinc. Brass will “patina” or turn darker over time as it is exposed to the elements, but it will not corrode and is a great option for outdoor and landscape lighting. What is Fresnel Glass?  Fresnel lenses are usually made of glass and their size varies from large (old historical lighthouses) to small (lamps and fixtures) The glass is ribbed thus projecting light differently. In 1822 French civil engineer Augustin-Jean Fresnel (pronounced fray-NELL) invented a new type of lens that produced a much stronger beam of light. The Fresnel lens is still used today in active lighthouses around the world.
