A special thanks to Tim Ahlborn to bring this unique decal set to life. Model pictured masterfully built by Tim Ahlborn. Write up below from Tim: Here's the story of Pico Pete. Pico was from Pico Rivera California. A stout, well dressed fellow with a big nose and famed for his Big Stick. Who was this Pico Pete? Why, Engs Motor Truck Company's mid 1970's Peterbilt 359-127 long hood Big Stick Wrecker of course. Pico Pete was featured in Overdrive magazine and made the rounds of the truck shows while earning it's keep for the Peterbilt dealership. The truck survives today but isn't wearing it's fancy Winslow Moore Class of the Industry suit anymore. Here is my rendition of Pico Pete. I started with the AMT Peterbilt Wrecker, lengthening the hood, lengthening the frame, reworking the wrecker bed for lower walls, longer wheelbase, narrower width, a wider main boom (the kit is just a bit skinny compared to the 14" real Bakersfield Booms). The kit grille was swapped out for a resin piece cast by AITM based on the part I made to resemble the Grilledenser option, mufflers and standpipes from an Italeri Pete, front wheel (outers) from a Transtar CO4070A, air cleaner from the Revell of Germany 359, air cleaner cap from the snap 359. The grille, fuel tanks and canisters on the left side of the cab were finished with Revell Chrome Spray. I swapped the Peterbilt air ride for a Hendrickson walking beam from a White-Western Star kit. These trucks typically used spring ride. Color is Duplicolor Universal White. The chassis is Duplicolor Bordeaux Red. Our professional quality decals are printed on quality clear film waterslide paper with a high resolution, commercial printer that utilizes a white toner for printed white backgrounds and as underlay for vibrant colors.  Made to order in the USA from a small family business.
