Picasso: Studio Study II 19.11.55, Carnet de la Californie

Picasso's artistic rendering captures the essence of Villa La Californie, his Cannes residence shared with Jacqueline Roque from 1955 to 1961. This sketch documents the studio space where he created iconic works such as "La Californie. Interior with Red Armchair" and "La Fenêtre De L'atelier À La Californie." Part of a thirteen-painting series exploring his home's interiors, this composition derives from studies in the "Carnet de la Californie" portfolio, offering insight into the creative environment that shaped some of his most significant compositions during this pivotal period.
