Philodendron, Tortum

Scientific Name: Philodendron bipinnatifidum 'Tortum' Common Name:  Fern-leaf Philodendron, Fernleaf Philodendron, Horsehead Philodendrons are a very popular and easy-care houseplant with a ton of variety across the different species within the family. They all come from tropical or subtropical climates and love humidity (and are great plants to have in your bathroom as a result). Each Philodendron has its own growth pattern and leaf style, which makes these all the more fun to collect! Some are natural trailers or climbers, and others grow straight up or even creep, making them an incredibly versatile and stylish houseplant across the board. Native to Brazil and Bolivia, Philodendron tortum brings the rainforest right to your home! Tortum has incredibly unique, deeply lobed leaves that almost look like a palm. Jungle Boogie is a prolific grower, so giving it a moss pole will encourage it to grow larger, more mature leaves. Basic needs: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sunlight as their leaves can burn from sun exposure. Philodendrons tolerate a range of watering schedules but prefers to be watered when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. They also love humidity, so misting them regularly is great. PRO TIP: as epiphytes, many Philodendrons love to grow vertically -- try giving your Philo a moss pole to mimic its natural habitat of growing against and around trees! ***Due to the unique nature of plants, the one we carefully choose for you won't look exactly like the photos. but it will be just as beautiful!
