Native to the Amazonas region of Venezuela, this striking climbing aroid develops long, narrow leaves with deep green upper surfaces and rich burgundy undersides. Its elongated foliage becomes increasingly dramatic as the plant matures, especially when given a moss pole or other sturdy support. The contrasting leaf colors and elegant shape make it a standout addition to a tropical plant collection. ☀️ Light Provide bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sunlight is fine, but protect from intense afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. 💧 Watering Water thoroughly when the top one to two inches of soil feel dry. Allow excess water to drain completely, and avoid keeping the roots constantly wet. 🪴 Soil Use a chunky, airy aroid mix containing potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite or pumice. Good drainage and airflow around the roots are essential. 🌱 Fertilizing Feed monthly during active growth with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding when growth slows. 🔄 Repotting Repot in spring when the roots fill the container. Choose a pot one size larger with drainage holes. Add a moss pole or sturdy support to encourage climbing and larger mature leaves.
