These are the last New Crystals for 2026. There is not a lot of newer production happening since 2020, The mines have been going since the 1960s and many of the shafts are very deep now. Location : Carnaiba Emerald Mining District, Bahia, Brazil These Phenaktie Crystals can get very big and well formed, from small to over 10 kilos. They have a silver / grey / white look to them, and are opaque. Gem Quality from this location is very rare. Many exhibit black Mica Schist - the matrix these grow on, that the area is famous for, and some even contain traces of Green which is Emerald crystals or Dissolved Emerald. I recommend getting a flashlight to play with these. Brazilian crystals are the most affordable Phenakite crystals on the market.
