pH Up

Every essential nutrient has its own pH window for absorption. Too high and iron or manganese lock out; too low and phosphorus struggles. The workable range for hydroponic gardens is 5.8–6.3, and sustained time outside it will damage or kill a crop. All Emerald Harvest base nutrients and supplements are pH buffered, so a garden running the full line should already sit close to balanced. But your water supply, your growing medium and any other brand in the mix can all move the number — and rockwool and coco coir in particular tend to need fine-tuning. How to run it Add base nutrients and supplements to water first, mix until completely dissolved and uniform, let it stand a few minutes, calibrate your meter, then measure and adjust. Add a little at a time and re-test. You may need very little — it depends on water quality and the strength of everything else in solution. Never mix pH Up with pH Down. Check pH before feeding and before and after watering. On automated systems, check daily. Replaces any alkalizer product. Danger — corrosive Causes severe burns and eye damage.
