What is the Enhanced Original IDT™ system on the PFAFF Performance Icon? The Enhanced Original IDT™ (Integrated Dual Feed) is PFAFF's signature built-in dual-feed mechanism integrated directly into the machine head — not an add-on attachment. It feeds fabric simultaneously from both top and bottom, keeping all layers moving in perfect synchronization. This eliminates shifting, puckering, and misalignment whether you're working with delicate silk, slippery synthetics, or thick multi-layer quilt sandwiches. What is ActivStitch™ technology on the Performance Icon? ActivStitch™ is PFAFF's patented automated thread tension system — backed by three patents — exclusive to the Performance Icon. Advanced internal sensors continuously measure fabric density as you sew, automatically adjusting needle and bobbin thread delivery to maintain perfect tension balance. This makes sewing with delicate metallic threads, specialty fibers, and novelty yarns reliable and consistent without manual adjustment. Does the PFAFF Performance Icon connect to Wi-Fi? Yes. The PFAFF Performance Icon is Wi-Fi enabled and connects wirelessly to the mySewnet™ cloud platform.
