Personalized Slate Pet Grave Marker

Their name, their years, and one line you write, engraved into real slate. Real natural slate with a chiselled edge and a matte stone finish Laser engraved, so the lettering is cut into the stone rather than printed on it Their name, their years, and one short line of your own Built for the garden, with no ink or paint on the surface to wash off About 8 by 6 inches, sized to sit in a flower bed without looking like a headstone The hardest part of a garden after a dog or cat dies is the spot they used to lie in. The sunny patch by the fence, the cool ground under the tree, the place they picked every afternoon. It stays exactly where it was and it stops meaning anything. A marker gives that spot its name back. Slate is the right stone for this. It is dense enough to sit outside for years without softening, it takes laser engraving cleanly, and the engraved letters read pale against the dark surface without any paint that could weather away. Every piece splits differently, so the edge on yours will not match anyone else's. How to Personalize Type their name in the personalization box on this page. Add their years if you want them, or leave it blank for the name alone. Add one short line of your own, or skip it. We engrave exactly what you type, so read it back before you add it to your cart. Our team laser engraves every marker by hand in Monroe, Connecticut. Questions People Ask Why engraved rather than printed? The letters are cut into the stone rather than printed on top, so there is no ink or paint sitting on the surface to lift or wash off. That is the reason we chose slate and engraving for a piece meant to live outdoors. How much fits on the message line? Up to 60 characters, which is roughly one short sentence. Shorter reads better on a stone this size. Their name and years alone is a complete marker, and plenty of people stop there. What if there is no burial spot? Most people who order one do not have a grave. It works just as well marking the spot in the garden they chose for themselves, the ground under a tree you planted for them, or a place by the back door where they used to wait.
