PERLITE MASONRY BLOCK FILL - 4CU.FT.

Perlite is a pure naturally occurring volcanic glass. We take Perlite in its raw glass form and heat it so the moisture inside the glass evaporates and creates tiny bubbles. This heating process expands the raw Perlite glass up to 20 times its original volume. Many compare this process to that of popping corn kernels. When corn is in its raw kernel state and then heated, the kernel expands (or pops), turns white and is extremely light weight. Perlite is clean, sterile, pH neutral, non-flammable, odorless, nontoxic and neither decays nor shrinks – even pests such as insects and fungi can’t destroy it.  While perlite is known for its value in horticulture for providing a balance of air and water for plants in soils and hydroponics, it is commonly used in construction and industrial applications valued for it’s lightweight, high absorption, fireproof, chemically inert characteristics. Perlite can be found in many products including cements, toothpaste, cosmetics, kitty litter, paints and plasters, insulation, water, and air and chemical filtration processes.  Perlite is widely considered one of the most versatile and sustainable minerals commercially available worldwide. The are many thousands of patents where perlite is used as a major ingredient and more patents are filed annually that use perlite in their formula or process. There is constant research and development being done within the industry. P.V.P. puts a lot of effort into helping develop new products and processes to manufacture perlite for nearly all applications and industries.
