The Pentair Solar Temperature Sensor (522101) mounts by your solar panels and tells your control when the sun has made enough heat to send to the pool. It is a 10K ohm sensor in black, made for Pentair automation and solar controls. What It Is For Reading solar collector temperature so the control knows when solar heat is available. Replacing a broken, faded, or out-of-range solar sensor. Do not drill into the solar piping. Run 20 AWG twisted-pair wire back to the control (300 ft max). Connect to the solar sensor terminals - either wire goes to either terminal. Check the solar temperature reading on the control. Note: Turn off power to the control before wiring. Wire not included.
