Peltor ComTac VIII (8)

The ComTac VIII represents the next generation of tactical communication, officially replacing the long-standing ComTac V series. It carries the pedigree of 25 years of innovation and a global footprint of over 1 million headsets deployed to date. Audio & Signal Processing Soundscape Technology: This system boosts the volume of radio transmissions and voice prompts while simultaneously filtering out radio static. Speech Intelligibility: By reducing background noise, it enhances clarity for verbal communication in high-noise environments. Mission Audio Profiles (MAP): Uses frequency-shaping technology to offer 5 preset gain settings, allowing for customized auditory performance. Fail-Safe Communications: The headset is designed to allow radio receive and transmit functions even if the unit has no power. Dual-Protection Features Ear Plug Mode: This mode boosts environmental listening and comms volume to compensate for the sound attenuation caused by wearing earplugs under the headset. Updated Earcup Design: The cups provide maximum sound attenuation while offering increased internal space for comfortable dual-hearing protection. Microphone & Cabling Specs Noise-Cancelling Mic: Mounted higher on the left cup (while remaining ambidextrous), it improves voice transmission in loud areas. Environmental Protection: The microphone is rated IP68, protecting against dust and water ingress up to 6 meters for 30 minutes. Ruggedized Cable: The wiring is specifically engineered to endure repeated mechanical stress and harsh field conditions. Physical Ergonomics Steel Headband: Constructed with individually sprung stainless steel wires to ensure pressure is distributed evenly and consistently around the ears. Low-Profile Headband: Designed to eliminate "hot spots" during extended missions and facilitates an easy transition to helmet-mounted configurations.
