Pechauer Pool Cue : AL1 - Specifications Standard Tip: Pechauer Jade Medium. Shaft Taper: 10–12" Pro Taper. Ferrule: 5/8" Juma. Joint Type: Piloted. Joint Size: .850. Joint Collar:  Black Juma Pin: Pechauer Speed JT. Ferrule Length: 5/8". The Pechauer AL1 is an entry-level model in Pechauer's Champion Collection, specifically the April Larson series. Handcrafted in Green Bay, Wisconsin, by the family-owned J. Pechauer Custom Cues (established in 1961), this cue celebrates the talent, perseverance, and energetic "Grinder" spirit of professional player April Larson. It's inspired by her original playing cue from the now-retired Camelot series, capturing her elegant style and vibrant energy. The design features a smoke-stained figured maple forearm paired with an ebony-stained figured maple wrapless grip, creating a sophisticated contrast with deep, rich tones and natural grain patterns for a classy, modern look. It includes exquisite white buffalo and turquoise inlays (simulated ebony-framed for added depth), reminiscent of Larson's distinctive style—these vibrant accents provide striking pops of color and intricate detailing, with matching inlays flowing into the butt sleeve for balanced, luxurious aesthetics. The stock shaft offers a consistent, feedback-rich hit with good balance and control. The piloted joint ensures a locked-in feel, and it's easily upgradable to Pechauer's low-deflection options (like Performance+ or Kielwood) if desired. Players praise Pechauer hits as reliable and pro-level without the premium markup. Superior Craftsmanship and Quality Owners and players frequently praise the cues as "solid," "excellent," and among the best values in higher-end cues, with durable finishes that hold up for years (or even decades). If you're a serious player moving beyond entry-level cues, the AL1 offers pro-level performance, eye-catching style, and lasting quality that justifies the price for those who value precision American-made billiards gear.
