Mid-Pride Peach Tree

Mid-Pride Peach Tree gives warm-winter gardeners the pleasure of harvesting a full-flavored yellow peach without waiting for the kind of prolonged winter cold many traditional varieties require. Its attractive fruit colors from golden yellow to a rich red blush, creating a classic peach appearance that looks as inviting on the tree as it does in a harvest basket. Inside, the juicy yellow flesh offers balanced sweetness and acidity, with enough brightness to taste refreshing and enough sugar to satisfy when eaten fresh. The peaches also have the character needed for cobblers, preserves, and other summer recipes, so a generous crop can be enjoyed in many ways. For gardeners in mild climates who have struggled to find peaches suited to their conditions, Mid-Pride offers both practicality and the unmistakable pleasure of a fragrant, sun-warmed peach picked at home. With a requirement of about 250 chill hours, Mid-Pride is tailored to USDA zones 9–10. In suitable climates, harvest falls during July, making it a useful bridge between very early low-chill peaches and later summer varieties. Site the semi-dwarf tree in full sun and fast-draining soil, then prune and thin annually for strong renewal growth and better fruit size. Mid-Pride is self-fruitful and productive as a single tree. A nearby peach with overlapping bloom may bring more pollinator movement through the canopy and support fruit set. Combining it with Eva’s Pride is especially useful when the goal is to stretch a low-chill peach harvest across more of summer.
