Peace Lily

An Indoor and Outdoor Flower Producer! The tropical evergreen Peace Lily is an all-time favorite for both beginning and expert plant lovers. There are numerous reasons this popular houseplant is an all-star in the growing world?… • Produces flowers year round • Can produce flowers indoors and outdoors • Great for cut flowers • Low maintenance • Self-pollinating • Thrives in the shade If you bring a Peace Lily into your home, you will join millions who can't resist its regal looks and fragrances. Green glossy leaves provide a sublime backdrop for the white calla-esque flowers (known as the spadix) that rest on tall stems above the foliage. Best of all, northern residents can enjoy this evergreen perennial year-round indoors in a shady environment. The plant filters indoor pollutants making it a great roommate for the bedroom or home office. No wonder it was awarded 'Desk Plant of the Year' in 2007! Peace Lilies Love Little Maintenance The best part of the Peace Lily is its fuss-free nature. Keep the plant in partial to full shade away from direct sun. Fertilization is minimal as long as you feed the lily once or twice with a balanced 10-10-10 organic fertilizer in the spring and summer. Pests are of little concern, but if you get any, a simple spray of soap and water will drive them away. Peace Lilies love a moist well-drained soil at all times. Plus, residents in zones 10 and 11 can keep the lily outside in a shady spot year round. Bring them inside if temperatures dip below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Happy in the Home The Peace Lily is a winner in the home because it produces stunning flowers in low light situations. Its self-pollinating nature can be quite prolific, filling your home with enticing fragrances all year. Better yet, it doesn't mind the scissors if you want an impromptu flower arrangement. Get a Peace Lily today and enjoy the flower power in the comfort of your own home!
