FAQs What is the galvanic isolation for the PCAN-USB adapter? The opto-decoupled version guarantees galvanic isolation of up to 500 Volts between the PC and the CAN side. Choose the galvanically isolated version if there are HV power lines near the communication bus lines. Galvanic isolation protects the PC from any high voltage disturbances on the CAN signal lines which can damage the adapter and/or the USB port on the host PC.  What do I do if I am unable to connect my PCAN USB device to my CAN network? Make sure you have downloaded all the necessary drivers and other software packages from the “downloads” tab on the product page. Is there more advanced CAN analyzing software available? Yes, for more sophisticated CAN analyzing needs, the PCAN-Explorer 6 software is available.
