There are many survival blankets on the market, but we have worked diligently to create what we know is the strongest available. 2X Reinforced GROMMETS! STRONG! This lightweight yet heavy-duty survival blanket features a strong nylon outer layer coupled with an aluminum reflective layer on the inside, so you get the durability of nylon plus the warmth and heat-retention properties of aluminum. The aluminum side reflects up to 90% of your body heat, so you retain your natural warmth.  ALL-WEATHER BLANKET: This unique blanket features an aluminum reflective side that can be used to create a radiant barrier. The other side is made of durable nylon, which can be used as a blanket, tarp, or shelter.  LIGHTWEIGHT and Durable: The blanket will travel lightly in your backpack or haversack. The reinforced corners add strength and durability. The blanket measures 60" x 82" (Approx. 5 ft x 7ft) when open. MANY USES: Can be used as a ground tarp, shelter, tent, or emergency blanket when camping, hunting, or backpacking. Keep one in your truck or car for emergencies. SUPER VERSATILE: Reflects heat and is waterproof, windproof, compact, lightweight, and durable. What's the difference between a space blanket and the Pathfinder Survival Blanket? Space blankets, also known as thermal blankets, reflective blankets, or foil blankets, keep your body warm by reducing heat loss. Many first aid and emergency kits that outdoor adventurers carry with them include space blankets. These reflective blankets are perfect for keeping you warm because they hold your natural warmth in during an unexpected or especially cold night outdoors. A space blanket can also be folded very small, making them perfect for saving space and adding minimal weight on backpacking and camping trips.  These silver foil blankets are also known as mylar blankets — they're made from the same aluminum-coated plastic as mylar balloons. Space blankets were developed by NASA in 1964 and have been an essential part of emergency kits for decades. During an extremely cold night outdoors, the body's temperature can drop quickly, which can lead to hypothermia. This is also why these blankets are handed out to people after they finish marathons. The space blanket protects against rapid heat loss and can act as a lifesaver until you replenish your fluids and change into dry clothes. The Pathfinder Survival Blanket offers the thermal warmth and emergency benefits of a space blanket thanks to its aluminum side, but it also offers extra durability benefits thanks to its nylon construction. The lightweight design also makes them perfect for putting in hiking packs and taking on backpacking and camping trips. If you're camping or hiking in cold, wet, or windy conditions, this thermal blanket will protect you from heat loss and exposure thanks to the nylon material and the aluminum. The reflective surface can also catch the light and be used to create a distress signal in an emergency. Our survival blanket features durable nylon on the other side, which space blankets don’t have as well as 6 grommets! That makes it even more useful for outdoor adventures. Because of its durability, you can use it to create a tarp for shelter. Put it on the ground as a surface to stay dry. Or wrap your body in it to preserve your body heat. It's hands-down one of the best blankets you can have in an emergency.
