Pastille 1 Disc - Droplet

The RBW Pastille 1 Disc strips lighting down to its most essential elements - just a single opal glass disc mounted on an aluminum or steel plate that somehow manages to feel both minimal and substantial at the same time. There's something almost meditative about the simplicity, like they took away everything that wasn't absolutely necessary and what's left is this perfect circle of soft light. The opal glass creates this gentle, even glow that works beautifully mounted on walls or ceilings, and the clean disc shape fits into contemporary spaces without competing with your other design elements. What's cool is the custom hand painting and braille options - you can actually personalize these or make them accessible in ways that most lighting manufacturers won't even consider. Getting 430 lumens from just 7.5W is solid efficiency for what's essentially accent or ambient lighting, and the 90 CRI means colors look natural rather than washed out or weird. The damp location rating opens up bathroom and covered outdoor installations where simpler fixtures would fail over time. ADA compliance is useful for commercial work, and honestly, the 50,000-hour lifespan means you'll probably forget it's even there once it's installed. The multiple patents tell you this isn't just another basic disc light - there's actual engineering behind making something this simple work well and look good doing it. RBW seems to understand that sometimes the best design is about what you don't include rather than what you do. Their approach with the Pastille collection shows confidence in letting materials and proportions do the work instead of adding unnecessary complexity or decoration. They're solving real lighting problems - efficiency, durability, accessibility - while creating fixtures that enhance spaces through restraint rather than showiness. It's the kind of thinking that produces lighting you notice for how well it works rather than how much attention it demands.
