Cavallo Pastern Wraps (sold in pairs)

Cavallo Pastern Wraps – Sold in Pairs Cavallo Pastern Wraps provide an additional layer of protection for your horse’s pasterns and heel bulbs when using Cavallo Hoof Boots. Made from soft yet durable neoprene, Cavallo Pastern Wraps help prevent rubbing, chafing, or irritation, especially during the boot break-in period. They can also be used to improve the fit of your horse’s boots or to “snug up” the fit after a fresh trim. Pastern Wraps are ideal for horses with sensitive skin or those prone to rubbing during longer rides, turnout, or therapy. Designed to fit comfortably under all Cavallo Hoof Boot styles (sizes 0–6), these wraps are easy to apply and secure in place with strong Velcro fastenings. Wrap around the pastern and follow the boot fastening steps below for added comfort and protection. Cavallo Pastern Wraps help prevent small rocks, sand, and debris from entering the boots during arena rides or turnout. They are highly recommended for high-stress boot use, such as barrel racing, jumping, and other demanding activities. For larger-boned horses or those with generous pasterns, Cavallo recommends sizing up to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. Features Provides added cushioning and protection against rubbing Helps improve boot fit Easy Velcro fastening system Fits all Cavallo Hoof Boot styles (sizes 0–6) Recommended during the break-in period for new boots Can be used for riding, therapy, or turnout Sold in pairs   How To Use Cavallo Pastern Wraps Step 1: While your horse is weight-bearing, wrap snugly around the pastern and fasten the main Velcro closure. The fit should be secure but not restrictive, allowing natural movement while providing full coverage. Step 2: Lift the hoof, and gently tug the wrap down under the heels, ensuring that about ¼–½ inch of the wrap sits under the heel’s weight-bearing points. This helps secure the wrap during movement. Step 3: With the hoof back on the ground, draw the elastic strap firmly upward at a 45-degree angle, like a sling supporting the heel bulbs. Fasten the elastic Velcro closure securely. Step 4: Place your horse’s Cavallo Hoof Boot over the pastern wrap and set the hoof back down. Fold down the small red Velcro tab to line up with the boot’s Velcro tongue. Step 5:Close your boot as usual, and perform a final check of all closures to confirm everything is secure before riding, turnout, or therapy use. Enjoy!
