An uncommon rectangular basket by the late Sylvia Gabriel. Sylvia, her mother Mary, and her sister Deborah Brooks are wonderful examples of multi-generational basket making in the Wabanaki communities. Sylvia's basket-making legacy lives on, as she taught Gal Frey to weave; Gal, in turn, taught her son Jeremy to weave. The basket has a wonderful golden patina. The cover bows, creating a space between the sides and the cover. Basket is 10 1/2 inches wide; 6 inches deep; 4 inches high
