Partial Eclipse Plate

There is perhaps no planetary event more fascinating to the human mind than an eclipse — which is exactly why our Partial Eclipse Plate is sure to delight anyone with an eye to the skies. This celestial-inspired piece depicts a vintage illustration of a cratered moon that has partly orbited into the earth’s shadow. Sourced from John Derian’s extensive collection of antique drawings, calligraphy and paper goods, this image has been reproduced under handblown glass by trained artisans in the celebrated designer’s NYC studio, creating one stellar decoupaged dish. Perfect as a dreamy catchall on the nightstand, our Partial Eclipse Plate would also look lovely paired with a plate hanger and displayed among artwork (and maybe our matching Total Eclipse Plate). Since this astronomical occurrence is also a symbol of transformation in the world of astrology, it could also make a thoughtful gift for anyone embarking on a new path. •handmade decoupage  •vintage image  •handblown glass  •john derian    Dimensions •5.25" diameter x .5"H
