Parker Vacumatic Drill Guide (Tool D35)

This stainless steel, two-sided tool is designed to remove that pesky ball left behind from an old diaphragm inside the filling unit of a Parker Vacumatic fountain pen. One side of the D-35 tool has a narrow funnel to fit inside the hole of the pellet retainer for a burr to pass through.  The opposite side is ladle shaped to fit around and over the pellet retainer, with a hole in the center top of the tool to pierce or crush the ball and decayed latex from the pellet retainer. The tool helps preserve the pellet retainer while crumbling the old diaphragm ball so you can insert a new diaphragm into your Parker Vacumatic fountain pen.  The hole in both the funnel and the ladle sides of the tool are wide enough to guide Dremel with a bud burr or wheel burr into or around the ball to pop it out or crush it.  While using the Dremel you keep the ladle end of the tool over the pellet retainer or keep the tip of the funnel end inside the pellet retainer hole. Something like Pentooling’s HT-UG poking tool is very useful during this ball extraction.  This is an original tool designed by Dale, with the help of fellow Pengeneers and an additional retired rocket scientist. This tool has been designed to fit the shape and contours of our burrs. Don't use burrs other than those provided by Pentooling. You don't want to pass a drill though this tool, as it may cause damage and warping.
