Parenting with a Plan

Parenting with a Plan isn’t another list of rules, it’s a road map for building trust and connection in the years that matter most. Parenting teens can be joyful, unpredictable, exhausting, and inspiring — sometimes all in the same day. Drawing from more than twenty years of real conversations with adolescents and their parents, Rabbi Akiva Sutofsky, a therapist, educator, and parent, blends Torah wisdom, heartfelt stories, and practical psychology into a compassionate guide for raising teens. With warmth and humor, he explores communication, boundaries, technology, self-esteem, spirituality, and more, showing how even challenging moments can become opportunities for growth. At its core, this book is about building relationships that last. It’s not theory but lived experience, distilled into stories and strategies you can start using right away to strengthen your connection with your child. “A very important book, drawn from real-life experience, to guide parents through the most challenging years.” —HaRav Ahron Lopiansky “Rabbi Sutofsky translates the language of teenagers into something intelligible to the parental ear.” —HaRav Eli Reingold
