Pardon My Broken Heart, by Karen Southall Watts

Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features. To be human is to have your heart broken. Sometimes repeatedly. Pardon My Broken Heart looks at what it means to have a broken heart and keep going. This collection of poems and short prose reflects the heartbreak of illness and mortality, loss and loneliness, and carrying on in a broken world. In Pardon My Broken Heart the poet shares intimate and pivotal events that led to sorrow and ultimately to the creative process. The vignettes and poems are personal, but the emotional truths are universal. Readers are invited to come close and share vulnerable moments of connection and ultimately hope. Karen Southall Watts teaches, consults, and writes in North Carolina.
