Pararescue Foundation : Custom Ski Graphic

The Prospector 96: Pararescue Edition Want to go out in the backcountry some days, and still use a chairlift on others without having to buy a whole different set of gear? This ski will do it all with ease - Winning athlete hearts and the Editors Choice award from Backcountry Magazine! It's built for the backcountry and touring to be light on the uphill and stable on the down, whether it's turns you earn or lift-served.  It's made with our signature Colorado beetle-kill pine, poplar and maple wood core and a light-weight fiberglass for superior on-snow feel. We also use the most durable base material available for inevitable backcountry rock encounters. We offer the Prospector in this limited edition at 96mm underfoot for maximum efficiency while traveling in the backcountry.   The Pararescue Foundation  The Pararescue Foundation is the only entity dedicated to exclusively support U.S. Air Force Pararescue and Combat Rescue Officer service members, veterans and their families. As members of U. S. Air Force Special Warfare, Pararescue specialists rescue and medically treat downed military personnel all over the world. Pararescuemen, also known as “PJs,” and their Combat Rescue Officer leaders are the only U.S. force specifically trained and equipped to execute the most dangerous and technical rescue operations worldwide. Regardless of enemy threat or environmental conditions, these elite warriors stand ready to find isolated and injured people, render expert medical care, and return them safely. Such selfless service takes a toll on military families.  These warriors operate at a convergence of roles known to be high-risk for Post-Traumatic Stress: ground combat, trauma medicine, and the recovery of human remains.  Also, the physical burden of carrying patients, rescue equipment, and combat loads through parachute insertions, armed conflict, open ocean swims, glacier travel and mountainous terrain routinely results in chronic physical and neurological damage. We're excited for the opportunity to team up with the PJ Foundation to bring you these limited edition skis. A portion of every ski sold will go towards supporting the great work done by the PJ Foundation.   The Skis All of our skis are handmade in Denver, CO at the Meier Craft Skiery and are backed by a 2-Year warranty. You can get this ski on our backcountry fave, The Prospector, which is offered in two widths underfoot.
