Pasta Partners Kit - Pappardelle Carbonara with Kale & Pancetta

A Pasta Born in Tuscan Hunting Lodges Pappardelle—derived from the Italian verb "pappare" (to gobble up)—has been a centerpiece of Tuscan cuisine since the Renaissance. These wide, elegant ribbons (traditionally 2-3 cm wide) were created to capture and hold rich, hearty sauces from wild game hunts in the forests of central Italy. Legend traces pappardelle to the court of the Medici family in 16th-century Florence, where it graced the tables of nobility paired with wild boar ragù and hare sauce. The pasta's substantial width and delicate egg dough made it the perfect vehicle for the robust flavors of Tuscan hunting season—a tradition that continues today. Unlike its thinner cousins, pappardelle's broad surface area and slightly ruffled edges create the ideal texture to embrace thick, luxurious sauces, making each bite a perfect balance of pasta and topping. The Perfect Marriage of Italian & French Culinary Traditions Experience the elegance of wide ribbon pappardelle paired with our signature Beau Monde seasoning blend—a sophisticated French spice mix that elevates simple pasta into restaurant-quality cuisine. This kit honors pappardelle's Renaissance roots while adding a distinctly American twist through Mid-Century French-inspired seasoning. Mix everything over low heat with a spoonful of cream to coat.
