Panamint is a low-chill nectarine selected for warm-winter climates. Its red-skinned, yellow-fleshed freestone fruit is aromatic and intensely flavored, with a balanced blend of sweetness and acidity. It typically ripens in late summer in comparable climates; timing varies by location. Growing Panamint Nectarine Plant form: Potted, semi-dwarf nectarine tree. USDA zones: 8–10. Chill requirement: About 250 hours below 45°F. Pollination: Self-fruitful; another nectarine is not required for pollination. Site: Full sun and well-drained soil. Water deeply while the tree establishes, without leaving roots waterlogged. Bloom and young fruit can be damaged by frost. See our potted fruit tree planting guide and shop all potted fruit trees.
